AP 10th class exams postponed; Govt to review again in July

VIJAYAWADA: Andhra Pradesh government on Thursday took a decision postponing SSC examinations scheduled to start from 7 June 2021. The decision is taken considering the Covid-19 situation in the state.

The AP government reduced the syllabus of SSC for the year 2020-21 and conducted classes till April second week. Usually SSC examinations were conducted every year with 11 papers. But the board reduced them to 7 papers for this year.

With huge number of Covid-19 cases registering across the state the government earlier postponed Intermediate examinations.
The SSC students and a few social activists have opposed the SSC exam schedule and education minister Adimulapu Suresh’s statements on conducting exams from June 7.

A few students decided to move court seeking orders to postpone or promote the students.

Meanwhile, AP chief minister’s office on Thursday announced that examinations are postponed till June end and a fresh schedule will be released in April only after analysing the situation.
