Covid-hit Lucknow University fails to declare semester exam result

LUCKNOW: The semester examination result process of Lucknow University has been badly hit with a number of teachers, employees of the examination office and owner of an agency, which has been engaged to carry out the result preparation work, testing positive for Covid-19.

The university had conducted the examination of undergraduate III and V and postgraduate III semesters in March, but the results are yet to be declared. The students took to various social media platforms on Sunday to express fear of the session getting derailed due to delay in the result declaration.

“It’s more than a month and the result of not even a single subject has been declared by the university. Our academic session is already delayed by four months and a late result declaration will only add to our problems,” tweeted a student Anil Kumar. “In May we used to have our fourth semester examination, while the results of the third semester are yet to be declared. If results are further delayed we will go over half a year back,” said BCom student Rati Singh.

Another student Saurabh Singh said, “Since the result of our previous semester is pending I can’t apply for the online internship in a company which is asking for the semester marksheet. I had thought that till May 15 I would become an intern with a legal firm. Our classes are being held online due to a surge in Covid-19 cases and I have ample time to pursue other things. However, the delay has hit my plans.”

“Students need not worry, the result will be declared shortly. The evaluation work has badly hit as a number of employees and the agency owner that prepares marksheets have tested Covid positive,” said an LU official.
