Goa Board SSC result criteria will be announced soon

PANAJI: Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (GBSHSE) has issued a circular formalising the announcement that Class X public exams for 2021 stand cancelled. The board has said that it will announce the criterion for promotion to the higher class shortly and that all unsuccessful candidates will be allowed to keep terms (ATKT) in Class XI.

The Goa Board said that the public exam for Class XII already stands postponed, as announced earlier, and said that a decision on the Class XII exams will be ‘communicated after a review in the coming week’.

“Considering the present situation of the pandemic and in consultation with stakeholders and the expert committee, it is decided that the Board public examination for Class X, which was scheduled from May 13 to June 4, hereby stands cancelled. The results of Class X will be prepared on the basis of internal assessment conducted by the schools and scaled up as per an objective criterion prepared by the Board. The details will be shared shortly,” the Goa Board circular states.

The schedule of the supplementary exam for ATKT students will be announced well in advance, it said.

“For admission to Class XI science and diploma courses, the Board will conduct an entrance examination based on the syllabus of maths and science of Class X. The examination will be multiple choice question based. The details will be notified subsequently,” the Board has said.

Students, who have registered for the April 2021 Class X exams as private candidates, will have to appear for the Board examination which will be conducted at a later date, to be announced well in advance.

The Goa Board circular comes after chief minister Pramod Sawant announced on Sunday that the Class X examinations for 2021 stand cancelled. A decision on the Class XII public exams will be taken based on instructions from the Union ministry of education.
