Maharashtra Board Exam Update: ‘Take a call on SSC assessment pattern, cancel HSC exams’

MUMBAI: There is once again a growing demand from parents and students for the Class XII board exam to be cancelled and for the Maharashtra state board to announce the SSC assessment pattern at the earliest.

Parents and students on Tuesday took to Twitter to put forth their demand. “The government is not understanding the pressure, stress and anxiety which each student is going through. Hoping that they don’t play with our mental health anymore and take a final call on it soon! #DONTIGNORE12THSTUDENTS,” said Twitter user and student Yash Bafna.

Another student Yash Bordia has demanded that the board should assess them on the basis of the internal exams held all through the year, hold online assessments or conduct one paper for all subjects. The school education department in the state had announced that the HSC examinations would be postponed for the last week of May.

Meanwhile, even as the SSC exam has been cancelled, the board is yet to announce the assessment pattern to be followed to mark students. The department has held several consultations since April 20 speaking to stakeholders and experts.
