MUHS has asked colleges to continue with the academic activities by using various learning resources optimally, so that students do not face academic loss. Colleges have been asked to maintain attendance records as per norms. The directive is for students who are yet to appear for their second and third-year examinations. Their examination has been postponed twice before. It is usually held in December. While the exam was scheduled from April 19, it was postponed to June, after the state recorded a sudden rise in cases in the second wave of Covid. An official from MUHS said that a similar circular was issued last year as well, when the pandemic disrupted exams and classes.
Brijesh Sutaria, a parent, said that most lectures are being conducted online. “Not many students are keen on online lectures as it has its limitations. Medical studies are more clinical based than theoretical. Students are waiting for classroom teaching to resume,” he said.
