muhs exam news: Maharashtra: Exams for health science courses will now be held from June 10

MUMBAI: Undergraduate exams for over 40,000 students from MBBS and other health science courses, which were scheduled to commence from June 2, have now been postponed to June 10. State’s medical education minister Amit Deshmukh, on Wednesday, announced that these exams will now be held between June 10 and 30. This is the third time, the exams for these set of students have been postponed.

Deshmukh made the announcement after meeting officials from the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS), including the exam controller Ajit Pathak on Wednesday. While lockdown-like restrictions in the state have been announced till June 1, it would have been difficult for students to report to the exam centre on June 2, said a government official.

The announcement has come as a relief to over 40,000 students. The lack of clarity on exam dates was causing anxiety among students, claimed a parent. The MUHS has already conducted final-year exams in these courses, however, the exams for intermediate years were pending. It was earlier scheduled on April 19, and was postponed to June 2, when the state saw a sudden rise in Covid cases.
