While talking to TOI on Monday principal Spring Dale Senior School Rajiv Kumar Sharma informed that the CBSE had directed every school to constitute a Result Committee (RC) comprising of seven teachers including two teachers from the neighbouring school as the external members of the RC who should be teaching class X. The school teachers would be from different streams including mathematics, social science, science, and two languages whereas the principal, 8th member of the committee, would be the chairperson of the RC which had to be constituted by May 5.
Notably, due to the surge in Covid 19 cases in the country, the CBSE had cancelled the board examinations for class X which were to be held from May 4 to June 7. The CBSE had decided to prepare the results of class X on the basis of an objective criterion developed by the CBSE.

Chairman, Great India Presidency School, Dr. A S Mahal said the students would be assessed for a maximum of 100 marks for each subject including 20 marks for internal assessment and 80 marks for the year end board examination. The internal assessment of 20 marks had already been done by the schools but due to the cancellation of the board examination, the assessment of 80 marks would be done by the schools based on the marks scored by the candidate in different tests or examinations conducted by the school during the year.
Vijay Mehra, chairperson, The Senior Study, informed that the 20 marks internal assessment would comprise of five marks each of subject enrichment, multiple assessments, an average of best of periodic tests and portfolio or the quizzes, presentations, in case any school had not conducted any of the above-mentioned assessments whereas the 80 marks external assessment would include 10 marks of periodic test-1, 30 marks of periodic tests -2 and 40 marks of pre-board examination.
The RC had to finalize the result of school by May 25 following which CBSE would declare the results on June 20.
Preparing results is going to be a herculean task for the schools during undeclared ‘lockdown’ in Punjab. The school management wonders how they would be able to compile data without physical assembly of the teachers since it (data) was lying in various forms and under the present circumstance, it wouldn’t be advisable to ask teachers to physically join together for at least collecting data.
