“Prof. Navin Sheth, Vice-Chancellor of Gujarat Technological University (GTU) will inaugurate the program on Monday at 10 am online. There is no registration fee for faculty and research scholars from academic institutes and the workshop will be conducted in Online Mode. Participants willing to participate in this online faculty development program should have a laptop or smartphone with good quality internet connections and other audio visual facilities, as required for online training,” Prof. Darshan Mehta, Coordinator of the FDP said.
“During a week-long program, nine speakers from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Institute of Technology (SVNIT) and four speakers from the industry will talk on the subject. Total 116 scholars, researchers from 16 states will participate in FDP. It will encompass various recent research topics in civil engineering covering all the specializations like structural engineering, geotechnical engineering, transportation engineering, water resources engineering, and environmental engineering, Prof Mehta added.
“This program will definitely boost the field engineers, researchers, and academicians to adopt the technological advancement in their field, take up the innovative research and develop new technology in order to meet the challenges ahead in civil engineering applications. In the week long program, various topics like recent trends in structural engineering, soft computing techniques, geotechnical investigations and its interpretation, fibre reinforced concrete and advanced surveying will be discussed,” FDP coordinator said.
